Getting Started with Transmogrification
Transmog lets you change how your equipped gear looks without altering its stats. To begin:
- Unlock the Feature – Complete the level-40 quest “You Can Dye Every Color, Too!” in any major capital.
- Find a Transmogrifier – These NPCs are in cities like Dalaran, Orgrimmar, and Stormwind.
- Browse Your Collections – Open the Appearance Collection tab (default hotkey “Y”) to see what you’ve unlocked.
- Apply Your Look – Choose the item you’re wearing, then pick any appearance you’ve learned. Confirm and pay the gold fee.

Transmog Tips & Tricks
– Helm Toggle – Hide or show helms to clean up silhouettes and show off hairstyles.
– Color Coordination – Dyeable pieces let you tint sleeves or pants—mix and match for contrast.
– Layering – Combine shirts, tabards, and cloaks for depth; try pairing opposite-faction cloaks with heroic sets.
– Favorites – Right-click icons in your collection to “Favorite” and quickly access go-to looks.
– Learn All Cautiously – The “Learn All” button unlearns old appearances—use sparingly.
